NYE in Sydney

AGeorge and I decided to pay to attend an event to watch the fireworks because we didn’t fancy fighting with the crowds from as early as 8am to reserve a spot.
We booked a place called the Italian Village, a restaurant right in the harbour, directly opposite the Opera House with the bridge to our left. Included in the AUS$255 was canapés and alcohol all evening.

We stood and watched the nine o’clock fireworks which were good. We then merrily danced around, taking over the dance floor for a couple of hours before heading back to the grassed area to await the midnight countdown.

What an incredible way to bring in the New Year…stood outside in the warmth, overlooking the Opera House, watching the most incredible fireworks, with the person you hope to spend the upcoming year with.
