The Weekly Photo Challenge: Ornate (Take Two)

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Ornate.”

I don’t normally share two photos for the same challenge but as I was scrolling through old holiday photos I came across the above.

I remember walking round the wood carving shop in Bali, Indonesia and thinking of wonderfully ornate all the carvings were. What was even more spectacular about them was that they were all hand calved.

Truly beautiful.

The Weekly Challenge: Ornate

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Ornate.”

As a birthday surprise my boyfriend, who is currently living on the other side of the world to me, organised theatre tickets for my birthday.

This is the stage set of Matilda The Musical.

I thought this fit perfectly with the theme as the set looked very intricate, with hundreds of lettered boxes springing from the ceiling.

I always think the way people design stage sets is wonderful.

The Weekly Photo Challenge: (Extra)ordinary

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “(Extra)ordinary.”


I took this photograph whilst having lunch in a converted property in Amsterdam. From the outside the building looked old and very boring but the interior was the complete opposite. I thought the stairs and light shades that hung high above me made a fascinating photograph and I couldn’t stop looking up whilst I was eating my lunch.
